Our Mission

We EmpowHER provides women and children with a safe, supportive community where participants are encouraged and empowered to engage in year-round programming, utilize community resources and embrace the best versions of themselves as valued community members.

Theresa Menting | Executive Director

Driven by a passion for empowering others, Theresa created We EmpowHER to provide a supportive community where women can find their voice, gain courage and continuously grow. Through her leadership, the organization has become a catalyzing force for female empowerment.

One of Theresa’s favorite roles is being a mom. She cherishes quality time with her family, filling their home with music and laughter. She loves cheering on her kids in various community activities.

Under Theresa’s guidance, We EmpowHER continues to gain momentum, uniting women across all backgrounds through empowerment, education and a nurturing sisterhood of support.

History

Theresa Menting, while working as the Volunteer Service Coordinator at the Fond du Lac County Department of Social Services, proposed the idea of a Women’s Empowerment Series, which was approved and launched in spring 2018 with the help of community donors and volunteers. Following its success, the program expanded in 2019, offering additional classes and introducing programs for children and teens. In 2020, amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, the series transitioned to embraced a virtual format and expanded to year-round programming, continuing its mission of empowerment. By 2021, the program expanded further, prompting a name change to We EmpowHER to better reflect its diverse offerings. Finally, in April 2023, We EmpowHER became an independent 501(c)(3) organization with its own Board of Directors. Now, in 2024, We EmpowHER continues to serve the community through connection to resources, community building and year-round programming.
