Through education, advocacy, and hands-on doula work, Amicus Mortis ensures that no one navigates life’s final chapter alone.
Being a mentor honestly changed me, and then volunteering took that transformation even further. Every step of the way, I was building new skills and discovering more about myself—things I never realized I was capable of doing. I always felt surrounded by the encouragement and guidance of the We EmpowHER community. They were right there cheering me on when I tried something new or stepped outside my comfort zone.
Looking back, it’s amazing how much I grew, both personally and professionally. The support I received wasn’t just a pat on the back; it was real mentorship and genuine belief in what I could achieve. That’s the environment that allowed me to create the Mentor in Training program and the Herstory Project. Watching those come to life and have a positive impact on others was so rewarding.
