Our Mission

We EmpowHER provides women and children with a safe, supportive community where participants are encouraged and empowered to engage in year-round programming, utilize community resources and embrace the best versions of themselves as valued community members.

Theresa Menting | Executive Director

As the visionary founder of We EmpowHER and the Women’s Empowerment Series, Theresa Menting has cultivated a powerful platform that inspires women to share their stories, build meaningful connections, and pursue their goals with confidence.

Driven by a passion for empowering others, Theresa created We EmpowHER to provide a supportive community where women can find their voice, gain courage and continuously grow. Through her leadership, the organization has become a catalyzing force for female empowerment.

One of Theresa’s favorite roles is being a mom. She cherishes quality time with her family, filling their home with music and laughter. She loves cheering on her kids in various community activities.

With an unwavering belief in every woman’s potential, Theresa is dedicated to fostering educational initiatives and mentorship opportunities that equip women with the tools to thrive. Her authenticity and approachable nature inspire others to confidently embrace their journeys.

Under Theresa’s guidance, We EmpowHER continues to gain momentum, uniting women across all backgrounds through empowerment, education and a nurturing sisterhood of support.

Sarah Klein | Program Director

Sarah Klein serves as the Program Director at We EmpowHER, overseeing the planning and execution of all programs offered by the organization. With special attention to detail, she manages every aspect of program development, ensuring a seamless experience from beginning to end.

Drawing from her background in education, Sarah holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education and initially embarked on her professional journey as a music teacher with the Oshkosh Area School District. During her four years in education, she honed her organizational and leadership skills while fostering creativity and learning in her students.

Transitioning to a part-time role with We EmpowHER allowed Sarah to leverage her planning skills in a new capacity. While she continues to facilitate classes, she now directs her efforts towards empowering women and children through diverse programs aimed at personal development.

Outside of her professional endeavors, Sarah enjoys spending quality time with her husband and energetic two-year-old son. She finds joy in indulging her creative side through crafting, immersing herself in a good book, and unwinding with a movie.

Rebeca Fiebig | Advocacy Director

Rebeca Fiebig serves as the Advocacy Director at We EmpowHer, where her dedication lies in personally engaging with every woman who seeks our support. Her role is more than a title; it’s a commitment to understanding each woman’s journey. Ensuring that every woman receives tailored guidance and access to the resources that will best empower her.

For nearly 17 years, Rebeca has been dedicated to both her marriage and nurturing their home as a stay-at-home mom. Through volunteering with organizations like Relay for Life and Ronald McDonald House, she has found fulfillment in giving back. However, it was mentoring for the Women’s Empowerment Series 6 that truly sparked her passion for helping women reach their full potential.

As the Advocacy Director at WeEmpowHer, Rebeca envisions a world where every woman has the opportunity to thrive, free from discrimination and barriers. She remains devoted in her mission to empower women from all walks of life, knowing that together, we can create a more inclusive society.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Rebeca holds her family close to her heart. She enjoys quality time and traveling with her husband and 3 children. She understands the importance of a strong support system and cherishes the moments spent with her loved ones. It’s this deep-rooted connection to family that fuels her drive to build a better world for future generations.

Nadine Machkovech | Event Specialist

Nadine is also the Executive Director of RISE TOGETHER, a grassroots non-profit organization that since 2013 has existed to prevent substance use and increase positive mental health by encouraging young people to use their voices for change. She has graced the TEDx stage, was profiled in Forbes with her team, and received national survivor advocate recognition from the National Safety Council.

History

Theresa Menting, while working as the Volunteer Service Coordinator at the Fond du Lac County Department of Social Services, proposed the idea of a Women’s Empowerment Series, which was approved and launched in spring 2018 with the help of community donors and volunteers. Following its success, the program expanded in 2019, offering additional classes and introducing programs for children and teens. In 2020, amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, the series transitioned to embraced a virtual format and expanded to year-round programming, continuing its mission of empowerment. By 2021, the program expanded further, prompting a name change to We EmpowHER to better reflect its diverse offerings. Finally, in April 2023, We EmpowHER became an independent 501(c)(3) organization with its own Board of Directors. Now, in 2024, We EmpowHER continues to serve the community through connection to resources, community building and year-round programming.
